Tuscarora acquires EPS firm in UK

8 September 2004

Rosslite has been bought from its current owner Omnipack.

8 September 2004 - SCA Packaging Tuscarora has acquired UK expanded polystyrene company Rosslite from Omnipack.

''This acquisition will help to maintain a capable and viable cushion packaging industry, which is especially important after a period of significant reductions in UK manufacturing output,'' said the company.

Rosslite has been established for over 40 years and has two factories at Torpoint in Cornwall and Atcham in the West Midlands.

It manufactures a number of moulded EPS packaging products such as fish boxes and seed trays. It also has major OEM customers such as Toshiba and NEC in consumer electronics and other sectors.

The acquisition will increase the number of SCA Packaging Tuscarora's factories in the UK to seven. This and will offer an improved geographical coverage for its protective cushion packaging business, according to the company.
