Hugo graduated in Economics and then spent seven years with Grant Thornton, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1981.
After completing four years of general practice work, he moved into the firm's corporate finance department, where he focused on investigations, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. In 1985 he left Grant Thornton to join a small corporate finance house, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions advisory work, undertaking several successful assignments.
Hugo was one of the two founders of Cavendish Corporate Finance in 1988. Since then, he has been involved in completing a large number of successful transactions, establishing a particular expertise in the business-to-business and support services.
Hugo has built up extensive experience of managing complicated transactions. He is a regular speaker on mergers and acquisitions and has also written a number of articles on the subject.
