Paul, a French speaker, graduated from Manchester University in 1993 with an honours degree in Computer Science and Accounting.
On leaving university, Paul joined Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in London, where he worked on a wide range of audit and business advisory projects. His work was largely focused on the financial services and retail industries. In 1995, he joined the lead advisory team within the corporate finance practice, where he focused on selling businesses and on the valuation of companies, brands and businesses for transactional or tax purposes.
In 1997 Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant and joined the private equity team of Nikko Europe shortly after it had been founded. He worked on several transactions in a variety of sectors in both the UK and France. Of particular interest, Paul's transactions included a substantial investment in a leading motorway service station operator and a smaller investment in a leading sub-prime consumer finance provider.
Paul joined Cavendish in 2000 and has gained considerable experience selling a wide range of businesses across several sectors. Having initially focused on technology businesses (at the time of the dot com boom), Paul has increasingly broadened his experience and has sold businesses across a wide range of sectors including consumer, technology, business services, financial services and engineering.
Paul, who sits on the Executive Committee and heads the Retail Group at Cavendish, has led some of Cavendish’s highest profile deals including Princess Yachts, JLA, Gü, Mappin & Webb, Smythson, Watches of Switzerland, Etam and Olan Mills.
