Alistair Hay

Partner - Debt Advisory

Alistair Hay

Alistair joined Cavendish in August 2016 to further strengthen the firm’s debt advisory practice. Before joining Cavendish, he was a Director in EY’s Capital and Debt Advisory business where he led a number of transactions including buy-side financing advice for CityFibre Infrastructure Holdings plc’s acquisition of fibre assets from KCOM plc and sell-side advice to Interbulk plc prior to its ultimate sale to Den Hartogh.

Prior to joining EY, Alistair spent 11 years at the Royal Bank of Scotland in various transactional roles within its UK Corporate Banking division. Most recently, he specialised in event-driven financings for corporates and financial sponsors as a Director in RBS’ Structured Finance team. In this capacity, Alistair led over 40 transactions (incorporating over £6bn of debt financing) across a number of different sectors and encapsulating a range of different financing scenarios including M&A, recapitalisations, IPO funding, refinancing and development funding.

Alistair graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 and became an Associate Member of both the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) and Securities and Investment Institute (SII) in 2005.

“Over the past 25 years or so the company has enjoyed strong growth and built up a very loyal client base of blue-chip customers. I wish management and Young Associates well as they take the company on to the next stage of its development and further success and would like to thank Cavendish Corporate Finance for doing an excellent job in facilitating the transaction.”
