Cavendish strengthens Equities platform to support companies across their growth journey
By CavendishGrowth companies have always been at the heart of Cavendish, and that remains the case. By growing alongside our clients, we have built a capital markets capability that spans the full market-cap spectrum, from companies at the start of their public market journey through to the FTSE 100. That breadth, and the joined-up service behind it, is increasingly recognised: year-to-date, the average market capitalisation of our new corporate clients is more than five times the prior-year average.
As companies scale, their needs evolve, from accessing different pools of capital to deeper institutional engagement and more sophisticated advice and execution. This structure gives each stage dedicated specialist focus, while retaining the sector expertise at the heart of our business.
These Managing Director appointments join the existing sector Managing Directors in Corporate Finance, reflecting the depth of talent across our Equities platform and further strengthen the senior team delivering for our clients.”
Julian Morse | CEO, Cavendish
Cavendish has strengthened its Equities platform, introducing greater specialist focus across its sales capabilities and formalising senior leadership across the wider Equity Capital Markets business. The evolution is designed to provide companies with more focused capital markets support as they grow, while bringing together Cavendish’s capabilities across Corporate Broking, Corporate Finance, Research, Sales, Trading and Investor Relations.
The enhanced structure creates three distinct but connected areas of sales expertise: Tax-driven Sales, led by Dale Bellis; Growth Companies Sales, led by Jasper Berry; and Equity Sales, encompassing International Distribution and Regional Marketing, jointly led by Chris West and Henry Nicol. Sector specialism remains central to the model, with the structure designed to strengthen Cavendish’s existing sector-led approach.
The model reflects the different capital requirements and investor audiences of businesses as they develop. It enables Cavendish to maintain its focus on smaller companies to attract both tax-driven capital and generalist small cap-focused capital, while providing deeper institutional investor engagement, research, trading and capital markets support as businesses scale all the way through to FTSE 100.
Michael Johnson becomes Head of Equities, with responsibility for bringing the three sales pillars together and supporting closer coordination across Equities and the wider ECM platform.
Alongside these changes, Cavendish has made a number of Managing Director appointments across Equities, reflecting the strength and depth of the firm’s senior talent.
In Research, Jens Ehrenberg, Rahim Karim and James McCormack have been appointed Managing Directors. Dale Bellis, Jasper Berry, Chris West and Henry Nicol become Managing Directors in Sales, while Sunila de Silva and Will Smith become Managing Directors in Corporate Broking. Sunila also becomes Deputy Head of Corporate Broking. Justin Zawonda-Martin, Daniel Balabanoff and David Luck have been appointed Managing Directors in Investment Companies, with Danny Smith, Jonny Hewitson and Andy Baker appointed Managing Directors in Trading.
The development builds on Cavendish’s broader offering across Equity Capital Markets, M&A Advisory and Debt Advisory, supporting companies across public and private markets.
