Head of Corporate Origination

Jonny joins Cavendish as Head of Corporate Origination bringing over 12 years’ experience working for lower and mid-market private equity funds on the buy side. His main role has been researching, targeting and building relationships with privately-owned companies throughout the UK, providing him with extensive experience in engaging with owner managers who are looking to exit or raise capital and preparing businesses to go to market.

Starting his career at UK mid-market private equity firm Sovereign Capital, he was dedicated to developing business relationships across the healthcare and education sectors. This experience resulted in a number of completed deals thanks to his in-depth of knowledge of those industries and his ability to engage with entrepreneurs and management teams. Throughout his subsequent roles at leading PE funds, Synova Capital and Mobeus Equity Partners, Jonny continued to build on his origination skills and contacts network in a range of sectors including technology, business services, travel, healthcare and education, delivering a number of successful transactions.

He has extensive experience in bringing businesses successfully to market to deliver optimum value for founders and entrepreneurs, utilising his detailed understanding of what appeals to the buyer community, particularly private equity funds and their portfolio companies. Jonny now has an extensive network of contacts within the investment community and industry, particularly in the UK.  He also has an acute understanding of business growth drivers, having worked with a large number of business owners and C-suite executives within PE portfolio companies to enhance growth through the identification of accretive acquisition targets and wider business development opportunities.

Jonny holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and a BA from LAMDA.
