Mo

“As a founder, choosing the right partner for such an important milestone was crucial. Mike, El and Scott were fantastic to work with from start to finish, combining hard work, unwavering support, clear advice and good humour. Cavendish were a real extension of our team, and together we achieved a great result for the business.”

Luke Fisher
Founder and CEO at Mo

Cavendish has advised the shareholders of Mo, the UK-based, award-winning reward and recognition platform, on its sale to UKG, a global leader in HR, payroll and workforce management software.

Backed by Mercia and Calculus Capital, Mo utilises its proprietary technology to help organisations drive employee engagement and strengthen workplace culture through real-time recognition and peer-to-peer appreciation tools. The business has become a trusted name among organisations seeking to build more connected, people-focused teams.

The acquisition forms part of UKG’s broader strategy to expand its employee engagement and recognition capabilities, with Mo’s technology now embedded within UKG Beacon – an AI-powered platform that integrates recognition with workforce analytics to help businesses engage and retain their employees more effectively.

The sale to UKG provides Mo with a strong strategic platform to scale internationally and brings additional capability to UKG’s expanding HCM product suite. For investors, the transaction represents a profitable return and a natural next step for a business recognised for its impact in the HR technology space.

This transaction marks another successful engagement for Cavendish in the human capital management (HCM) software sector. Mike and his team were engaged to advise Mo, leveraging Cavendish’s strong expertise in HR technology, SaaS, and employee engagement solutions. The firm’s recent track record includes advising on the sale of employee benefits platform Zest to ePassi, the acquisition of Oak Engage by NorthEdge, and the sale of Perkbox to Great Hill Partners. The deal was led by Mike Dinsdale, HCM and Tech Services Partner, with support from El Hudson and Scott Miller.

Mike Dinsdale, Partner at Cavendish, said:

“Mo has long been recognised for its innovative approach to employee engagement, celebrating the moments that matter at work and building thriving, people-first cultures. It has been a real pleasure working with Luke, his team and the supportive investors behind Mo – we look forward to seeing the next chapter of growth under UKG.”
